I finally visited this small museum after seeing it for years. I wish I had come sooner. The house is beautiful, the art studio is stunning, and the grounds are magical to walk on. Everything is really well maintained and the staff very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend going.
Beautiful gardens and a decent view over the City, but its a kind of small place. There is some decent history with this place (also called "Belmont" by some of the locals), but it can be seen and explored in an hour without missing anything, it seems. It can be a romantic spot for a couple, though! Of the few times i have visited, it was never really crowded, either. Its a nice place to see.
I have visited here many times, when family and friends visit. Everyone loves it! There are no artists in my family, but the Melchers’ art is fantastic and so lovely; we so appreciate their talent. The studio tour is fascinating; the docents are extremely knowledgeable. The house tour is also spectacular. I really enjoy touring old homes, and this one is no exception. The grounds are beautiful. The gift shop is fun to browse and there is plenty of parking.
I booked Belmont for my parent's 50th Anniversary Party. Wonderful location, and their event facilities are 1st class. Meghan (event POC) was super helpful and very patient with me while I was getting myself organized. I think this is a great place for any event (wedding, corporate, etc.). The grounds are well manicured and would make a great location for any type of photoshoot. I highly recommend GMHS at Belmont.
